The history of the Van Lierop family's love for flowers goes back to the early 1800's. Simon Van Lierop left his homeland and came to the United States prior to the depression. He came to Puyallup and worked on a farm, which during the hard times often paid him in bulbs. He made the best of it by selling the flowers door to door, and that started everything. Simon followed in the footsteps of three generations of bulb growers from the Netherlands when he started the Van Lierop Bulb Farm in 1934 with his wife Beatrice. In the same location since 1934, the Van Lierop Bulb Farm is known far and wide for the beautiful gardens where you can see many bulb varieties in bloom every spring.
Today, Neil and Lore Van Lierop operate Van Lierop Bulb Farm, Inc. with a love for the flowers and bulbs developed over five generations. Bringing top quality flowers and bulbs to their customers has always been of primary importance to Neil, who has maintained the relationships with the bulb suppliers his father started in the 1930's.
An icon of the Puyallup Valley , the Van Lierop Bulb Farm has gone from a small family operation to a nationally acclaimed supplier of bulbs and flowers. Rated by Consumer Reports to be “A top quality bulb specialist,”1 you know you can count on the years of experience and quality at Van Lierop Bulb Farm to provide you with the flowers you want.
